Ian Greenlee, Senior Lieutenant University Police Operations and Communications

Dear Colleagues,

It is with mixed feelings that I share that Ian Greenlee will depart his position as Senior Lieutenant of University Police on February 6. 聽Ian has been with the University Police since 2006 and has been a critical contributor to positive change in the organization. As Dan Nichols and I transitioned into our new roles at 麻豆视频作品in 2011 鈥 2012, Ian鈥檚 loyalty, support, institutional knowledge, and feedback were invaluable to what we planned to accomplish.聽

Ian鈥檚 success at 麻豆视频作品started in 2007 when he finished at the top of his class and was selected class speaker at his police academy graduation. He was promoted to Corporal in 2007 and became a certified instructor in law enforcement patrol and response operations with emphasis in both officer safety and de-escalation in critical incidents.

Ian continued to expand his professional responsibilities and exhibited outstanding leadership as he progressed though the ranks. He was appointed Sergeant in 2009 and again promoted to Senior Lieutenant in 2015.聽 During the last 15 years, Ian has been instrumental during many events at the university, including weather-related emergencies, an earthquake, and student center events and activities. Ian said his most memorable event was being on campus the night Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States.

In announcing his departure to me, Ian said, 鈥淭hank you to all who have ever trusted and had faith in my leadership and decision making. I leave because I recognize that life is full of changing seasons and new opportunities.鈥澛

I thank Ian for his years of dedicated service to 麻豆视频作品. Please join me in thanking and wishing him well in all his future endeavors.聽
